As Canções da Maria

15th anniversary celebrations begin in December 2026

As Canções da Maria was born when Mathilde and Manon — the daughters of Maria and Xavier (our very own Mathias) — started school. Maria, who has always had a knack for turning just about anything into a song, began writing and composing songs inspired by the subjects they were learning, making studying easier — and turning it into something that felt much more like play.

With artwork and graphic design by Patrícia Furtado, the project was released on CD and DVD, with arrangements and production by João Só, brilliant illustrations by Nuno Markl, brought wonderfully to life through animation by João Alves, and animation and video production by Bruno Caetano.

Today, As Canções da Maria has amassed more than 45 million views on YouTube!
