Some projects capture the spirit of their time. Others come to define an era.

When Amália Hoje was first unveiled to the public in 2009, few could have anticipated the impact it would go on to have.

The unlikely meeting of Amália Rodrigues’ extraordinary body of work with the language of contemporary pop music gave rise to one of Portugal’s most significant musical phenomena of recent decades. What began as an artistic tribute quickly grew into a major cultural event, both at home and internationally.

Triple Platinum. Ten sold-out shows at Portugal’s iconic Coliseums — eight in Lisbon and two in Porto. Extensive tours spanning the country from north to south. Record-breaking audiences. International performances in Canada, Brazil, the USA and China. Sustained media attention. And a rare and lasting place in Portugal’s collective cultural imagination.

More than fifteen years later, that relevance remains undiminished.

As Amália Hoje prepare to release their new album in late 2026, they have entrusted aFirma with booking the theatre tour that will accompany its release.
