In the words of Fernando Ribeiro, lead vocalist of Moonspell: ‘2026 will be one of the most important years in Moonspell’s history.’

After three unforgettable decades touring the world — a journey that began in 1995 — selling thousands of records and engraving both their name and that of Portugal into the history of national and international music, MOONSPELL enter 2026 with a rare and renewed energy for a band with so many years and miles behind them.

At the center of this new chapter is their forthcoming studio album (July 2026), currently known only by the mysterious acronym FFG. The record stands as a bold new statement from the band, reaffirming their complete mastery of the fusion between metal and gothic music—a sound they helped pioneer in the late 1990s. The first single and its accompanying video—filmed in a palace in Latvia—will be released worldwide on March 25.

Following the success of their live concert release recorded at Lisbon’s Meo Arena with the Sinfonietta de Lisboa—Opus Diabolicum sold out its first edition across all formats (DVD, Blu-ray, CD, and vinyl)—the band will now take this orchestral adventure to international stages. The first performance is set for March 13 at the Pepsi Center Arena in Mexico City, followed by August 2 at the majestic Roman Amphitheatre of Plovdiv in Bulgaria.

Still in March, Moonspell return to Latin America—where they first performed in 1998—making their debut in Honduras, alongside appearances in Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Brazil.

During the summer, the band will also perform at major European festivals, including Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, Wave-Gotik-Treffen and Party.San Open Air in Germany, and Castle Party in Poland.

Several dates across Portugal will also take place during the summer, with the highly anticipated album release shows to be announced soon. These will include two very special dates for fans—among them the band’s now-legendary Halloween celebration.
