SEAN RILEY & THE SLOWRIDERS are back with a new studio album. The release of the self-titled record is scheduled for April 8 and the debut single is “Dili”.

A few years ago, the band embarked on this journey by the feeling that unites them to create music and published three albums in less than 4 years. SEAN RILEY & THE SLOWRIDERS performed almost every stage there is to perform in Portugal from North to South, released internationally and presented their music out of doors countless times.

After the tour promoting the last record, fate decreed that all the band members were dedicated to other projects. Till the day they started really missing each other. It was just a second till the phones started ringing and began to emerge erratically, some songwriting sessions on long weekends in of communion.

The one that would be the next band’s body of work was set in half a dozen of these sessions. Fast, intuitive and above all, free from any preconceived idea. It was necessary to be so, the music to speak louder once more, so that everything made sense. Explore and follow the instinct to pace the maximum Beat / Buddhist “first thought, best thought”.

The fourth album, and the first of a new cycle – closed the trilogy Farewell, Only Time Will Tell, It’s Been a Long Night – is born of this need to communicate notes and feelings in the way that SEAN RILEY & THE SLOWRIDERS do. It’s a plunge into the unknown, with feet firmly on solid ground.

In a way, this is the most direct drive from the point of view of creation, a tribute to the spirit of the first booster recordings. On the other hand, never any SEAN RILEY & THE SLOWRIDERS’s record was so conceptual, following new paths without ever losing sight of the essence of the band.

And if three years are a considerable sabbatical, the notion of time is always based on a subjective perspective. And this is a band that never belonged to a time. Neither theirs nor any other.
