New Mirror People album, Bring the Light, arrives on March 31st

New Mirror People album
Bring the Light
Arrives on March 31st

It will be on the 31st that Mirror People, a parallel project by Rui Maia of the Portuguese X-Wife, will publish his second long-term work, Bring the Light, Voyager’s successor released in 2015.

In collaboration with vocalist Jonny Abbey, Rui Maia invokes the influence of Stephen King’s films, the new wave of the Human League and Soft Cell, the beginnings of hip hop, the latest hot pop pop of the Hot Chip or Prince’s Minneapolis sound as some of the references to this new work. The 10 themes that make up this new work trace an urban side of lived and imagined experiences in a big city.

The Bring The Light edition is scheduled for March 31st and will be available on CD and on all digital platforms.

The album’s presentation party takes place on March 31st, in a Listening Party at the Incognito Bar in Lisbon, with the presence of all the members that compose the project live. The entire album will be listened and followed by a DJ Set by Rui Maia.

Crime Scene
Mirror People released Crime Scene, a new single with music video directed by Vasco Mendes. Shot in the city of Oporto, the video traces a caricature episode in the life of a detective.

Crime Scene aposta numa sonoridade entre guitarras mais angulares ao género dos Franz Ferdinand com uma electrónica bastante forte e marcada em que ambos os elementos acabam por ser um bom cartão de visita para Bring the Light.

Crime Scene bets on a sonority between guitars more angular to the sort of Franz Ferdinand with a strong and marked electronics in which both elements turn out to be a good business card for Bring the Light.
