MAZGANI CELEBRATES LIFEBOAT’s ANNIVERSARY AT RECORD STORE DAY
Marking one year of existence of the album “Lifeboat”, a work that includes reinterpretations of PJ HARVEY themes, ELVIS PRESLEY, COLE PORTER, BEE GEES and LEE HAZELWOOD, MAZGANI closes the cycle with a special performance at the Record Store Day – April 16 Fnac in Colombo at 9pm.
This very personal MAZGANI’s reinterpretation of the work of outstanding figures in his musical career, was co-produced by Mazgani and Hélder Nelson and recorded live on tape, in the studio but live, in order to capture the space and time perfectly.
The idea was to “seize the songs” and “make them his own,” as he claims. “I wanted my voice to tell my own story through these songs and at the same time, find an aesthetic that would bond this body of work so disparate”.
On 16 April at 9pm, his live performance at FNAC Colombo will be transmited directly from facebook through facebook live functionality. You just have to like the page FNAC Portugal and be online on Facebook at this time. More information here.
Mazgani presented “Lifeboat” a little everywhere, from Loulé to Guimarães, Vila Real to Setúbal and invited Peixe to play with him at Festival F in Faro and Theatro Circo in Braga, which filled to receive him. According Mazgani the invitation to Peixe arose due to “the great admiration for his restless genius, which always returns every song a new vitality. With him, we feel that the stage becomes a place of adventure and risk. Without this impudence the songs do not want us.”
